Road closing

Beginning June 6, at 7:30 a.m., Germantown Road will be closed between Enterprise Road and Preble County Line Road for approximately four weeks for a full bridge replacement. This closure will begin at Box #8501 and end at Box #8515. This will be closed to all traffic. Stay updated on this closing by viewing the Preble County Engineer’s website at www.prebeng.org.

Blood drives scheduled

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Lewisburg will help boost blood donations as the summer season heats up with a blood drive Wednesday, June 8, from noon to 4 p.m. The Community Blood Center Bloodmobile will be at 700 W. Cumberland St. First Missionary Baptist Church of Lewisburg will host a “Wild About Alaska” summer blood drive Monday, June 13, from 4-7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room, 608 N. Commerce St. with a “Whale of a Blood Donor” t-shirt as a donor gift. The Camden community will sponsor a “Wild About Alaska” summer blood drive Wednesday, June 15, from 4-8 p.m. with a “Whale of a Blood Donor” t-shirt as a donor gift. The Community Blood Center Bloodmobile will be at First Financial Bank, 4 South Main St. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 1-800-388-GIVE.

DD Finance Committee

The Finance/Personnel Committee of the Preble County Board of DD will meet at 3:15 p.m. on June 14, in the board small conference room, located at 200 Eaton Lewisburg Road. The meeting will be for the purpose of discussing the advertisement for bids, and Teaching PLAY, in addition to any other business coming before the committee.

Ceramics: Date Night

The Preble County Fine Arts Center will host a Ceramics Date night on Friday June 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Make a date with your significant other, best friend or mom. The Fine Arts Center will have all supplies needed, including snacks and drinks. Attendees will spend one hour on the potter’s wheel and one hour doing a hand built project. OSU Extension Safe Food Handler Level 1 training

There will be a Safe Food Handler, Level 1 training on Friday, Aug. 12, and Oct. 14, from 1-5 p.m., at The Ohio State University Extension Office on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 1001 S. Main Street, Dayton. Safe Food Handler empowers employees as they learn how food becomes unsafe and their role in keeping food safe. ServSafe® is the industry standard for food safety education. Participants receive the ServSafe® Food Handler Guide and a certificate of completion. This class is for employees who prepare and serve food whether that is in a church, food pantry, food bank, child care center, home child care, Head Start, restaurant, or festival volunteers. Upon completion of this 4-hour course, the employee will receive a certificate of completion. Early childhood employees will receive an ODJFS in-service form.
