EATON — On May 11, representatives from the Greater Ohio Bicycle Adventure met with local officials at Eaton High School to finalize plans for an overnight stay on the property next month. GOBA will make its way through Eaton on Sunday, June 19, bringing an estimated 1,500 – 1,600 cyclists into town for an overnight stay before making its way through Oxford and Brookville on subsequent days.

The annual, weeklong bicycle-camping tour features a different part of Ohio each year, designing unique routes showcasing countryside vistas and tourist destination. This year’s 240-mile route (with optional extra route legs offering a trip maximum of 395 miles) will lead riders across covered bridges in the region and include overnights in Oxford on June 20 and Brookville on June 21. GOBA overnight camps will be at Eaton High School, Miami University, and Golden Gate Park in Brookville.

Riders will begin arriving in Eaton between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on June 19, with most entering the area between 12 and 3 p.m. Residents should expect traffic delays and extra crowds in local establishments.

Registration for GOBA 2016 is open until May 31; interested riders can sign up at goba.com. More information is available at the website or at 614-273-0811 or [email protected].
