WEST ALEXANDRIA — Twin Valley Community Local Board of Education met on Monday, April 25, and accepted a $100,000 donation.
The anonymous gift is to be used toward facilities updates, according to board members.
In other business:
- The board acknowledged potential of a pending five-figure donation to the district.

Clint Bartlett was was announced as Twin Valley South’s new head varsity football coach. This is his first head coaching position, having previously assisted at Beavercreek, Oakwood, and Miami Trace.

Twin Valley South is applying for the Healthier Buckeye Grant, which if received would give the district funding to employ a full-time social worker in the school.

Twin Valley South science educator Cathy Ackerman has been selected as Vectren’s of the year, and will be honored on May 10.

The board noted pending replacement of a memorial tree on the school lawn.
- Elementary students Joslynn Beneke and Lily Bailey were selected as two of 46 students in Ohio to compete in the Invention Convention finals in Washington, D.C. later this spring.
- Facilities updates, summer work hours for staff, and routine school cleaning were scheduled and approved for summer 2016.
- The Great Ohio Bike Adventure was approved to use the high school as a stop on their tour through the state on June 22.
