BOE meeting

The Preble County Board of Elections will conduct a regular business meeting on Thursday, April 21, at 3 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Board’s office at 101 E. Main St., Eaton.

Sweet Carole-line Memorial

The 4th annual Sweet Carole-line Memorial Concert featuring the famous Van Dells will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at the Eaton Community Schools Performing Arts Center. They will be presenting an all new show with comedy, choreography, and all the greatest hits. Tickets are reserved seating for $18, and proceeds benefit the Preble County YMCA Annual Campaign. National Take Back Initiative

On April 30, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the Oxford Township Police Department is inviting the public to drop off their old and unwanted prescription drugs at the OTPD on Collins Run Road. The event is part of the National Take Back Initiative.

Creative Kids show

The Preble County Creative Kids Art Show at the Preble County Visual Art Center in Eaton, started March 25, and will continue through April 28. Elementary and middle school art from Eaton, National Trail, Preble Shawnee, Tri-County North and Twin Valley South Schools was on display through April 16. High school art from the county schools will be displayed April 21 through May 14. The Visual Art Center is open Tuesday through Friday, 1-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parents and families are welcome to stop by the Art Center. The show is sponsored by the Preble County Educational Service Center and their Governing Board and the Preble County Art Association.

Rotary Honor Scholars

The annual Rotary Honor Scholars dinner will be held on Thursday, April 21, at Twin Valley South. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. followed by a presentation of certificates to the students being honored for being in the top 5 percent of their class, grades 10 through 12. Eaton, National Trail, Preble Shawnee, Tri-County North and Twin Valley South students will be honored. Parents and students were invited to attend. This event is sponsored the Eaton Rotary Club members and coordinated by the Preble County Educational Service Center.

Gratis Public Library

Gratis Public Library will hold Springtime Story Hour on Thursday, April 28, from 6-7 p.m. Attendees can enjoy stories, crafts, games and snacks.

VPFDF board meeting

The Preble County Volunteer Peace Officers Dependent Fund Board will meet on Wednesday, April 20, at 4 p.m. at Eaton Fire Station #2, West Lexington Road in Eaton. The meeting is open to the public.

PS meeting time

The regular April 21, meeting of the Preble Shawnee Board of Education will be held at the Board of Education Office, 124 Bloomfield St., Camden. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with an executive session to prepare for negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees concerning their compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment; and to consider the employment of a public employee or official. The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Road closure

Beginning April 4, Gray Road is closed between Box # 8995 Gray Road and Fairhaven College Corner Road for approximately four weeks for a complete bridge replacement. This will be closed to all traffic. Stay updated on this closure by visiting the website at www.prebeng.org

Senior citizen dinner

Twin Valley South High School, with the financial support of four local service organizations, will be sponsoring a senior citizen dinner on Tuesday, April 26, at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is free to all senior citizens in the Twin Valley Community Local School District. Reservations may be made by calling the school office at 839-4693 or 839-4688. The deadline for reservations is Monday, April 25. Entertainment will be provided following the dinner. The service groups making the dinner possible are the Alpha Kappa Sorority, Coterie Club, West Alex Lions Club, and West Alex Kiwanis Club.

Chicken BBQ

Citizens for Preble County DD will hold a Chicken BBQ fundraiser on Friday, May 6, from 11 a.m.-1:30 pm. Orders are due on Friday, April 29. Delivery is available for orders of five or more meals. The cost of the meal is $7.50 and includes one-half BBQ chicken, two sides, a roll and a cookie. PS audit completion

State auditors have completed their audit of the FY 15 financial records of Preble Shawnee Local Schools. A copy of the audit report is available for public inspection in the Treasurer’s Office of Preble Shawnee Local Schools located at 124 Bloomfield St., Camden, between the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Milford Township 2013-2014 audit

Folk & Fancy

The EACC is gearing up for the spring Folk & Fancy concert, which will be held in the Eaton Performing Arts Center on Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m. All interested singers in the area are invited to sing in this organization. No audition is required. The choir will rehearse on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Eaton High School vocal music room until the concert in May.
