PREBLE COUNTY — Two Miamisburg teens have been charged with arson in connection with a fire which burned a vacant house on Fudge Road in mid-October.

According to Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson, deputies have concluded their investigation into the arson that occurred in the 7000 block of Fudge Road. Deputies originally responded to the area on Oct. 16, 2015, at approximately 1:58 a.m., after the property owner, who was investigating possible trespassers on the property, found a vacant house on fire.

Simpson reported, the property owner was able to obtain a description and license number of a truck that was fleeing the area and provided the information to deputies.

The suspect vehicle was tracked to a residence in Miamisburg, where investigators were able to identify two suspects in the case, a juvenile and an adult.

Investigators were able to collect evidence at the scene which showed where a combustible liquid had been poured on the porch and ignited, according to Simpson.

On March 8, investigators charged Dallas Griggs, 18, of Miamisburg, with the following offenses in Eaton Municipal Court:

• Arson, a first-degree misdemeanor

• Possession of criminal tools, a first-degree misdemeanor

• Criminal trespass, a fourth-degree misdemeanor

• Criminal damaging or endangering, a second-degree misdemeanor

A 17-year-old from Miamisburg has also been charged in Preble County Juvenile Court with the same offenses, according to Simpson.
