Northwest Fire and EMS fundraiser

Northwest Fire and EMS is conducting a fund drive. Representatives will be going door to door contacting homes throughout their protection area asking for a $20 donation. These donations will be used to purchase needed equipment in order to update and improve our service to the community, each household or business

Hunter education offered

A Home Study Hunter Education course is being offered Saturday, April 2, at Twin Valley Rod & Gun Club, beginning at 9 a.m. To register, call teh Division of Wildlife at 1-800-945-3543 or visit wildlifeohio.gov. Students 17 and younger must be a resident of Ohio and complete review questions to gain entry to the course. This work can be done in a student manual or through chapters and downloaded chapter reviews. Those 18 and older must be a resident of Ohio and present a picture ID proving age and residency. Chapter reviews are not required for 18 and older.

Park District meeting

The Preble County Park District’s April meeting has been changed to Friday, April 8, at 9 a.m. in the Eaton City Building on Maple Street. The public is welcome to attend.

TVS kindergarten registration

Kindergarten registration for the Twin Valley Community Local Schools will be held April 4-8. Contact the elementary school office with any questions, 937-839-4315.

Spring cleanup

Spring cleanup for senior citizens is available from the Senior Home Repair Program of the HIT Foundation, April 12-13. Rain date is April 14. Call 937-472-0500 to request help with yard clean-up, painting, and other odd jobs. Services are free to seniors.

Senior citizen dinner

Twin Valley South High School, with the financial support of four local service organizations, will be sponsoring a senior citizen dinner on Tuesday, April 26, at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is free to all senior citizens in the Twin Valley Community Local School District. Reservations may be made by calling the school office at 839-4693 or 839-4688. The deadline for reservations is Monday, April 25. Entertainment will be provided following the dinner. The service groups making the dinner possible are the Alpha Kappa Sorority, Coterie Club, West Alex Lions Club, and West Alex Kiwanis Club.

Folk & Fancy

The EACC is gearing up for the spring Folk & Fancy concert, which will be held in the Eaton Performing Arts Center on Sunday, May 15 at 3 p.m. All interested singers in the area are invited to sing in this organization. No audition is required. The choir will rehearse on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Eaton High School vocal music room until the concert in May. Vaccines for Children program changes

As of Jan. 1, Preble County Public Health will no longer be able to provide state purchased vaccine to those individuals covered by commercial insurance policies. The department will continue to vaccinate these individuals but at a higher cost due to having to purchase the vaccine, according to officials. The Preble County Public Health Immunization Clinic is able to bill Anthem, UMR, United Healthcare, Medical Mutual, Medicaid and the Medicaid Managed Care Plans.
