EATON — At the Preble County Sheriff’s Office annual employee meeting in January, Sheriff Mike Simpson took the opportunity to recognize one of the area’s local citizens.

According to Simpson, David Jones has been assisting the PCSO office and other agencies with monthly K-9 training for several years.

“He gives countless hours each month to serve in the role of ‘Bad Guy’ in order for Preble County K-9 units to train and maintain their skills,” Simpson said. “David also assists each year with our ‘Use of Force’ training with all sworn officers.

“Again,” Simpson said, “Having an ‘actor’ involved with scenario-based training enhances our ability to provide realistic training scenarios.”

“David volunteers his time and has logged hundreds of hours over the years,” Simpson added. “I certainly appreciate David’s support of the Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement throughout the county.”

Jones was recognized in front of PCSO staff and was provided a plaque in recognition of his service.
