OXFORD — Three Valley Conservation Trust has been awarded local sponsorship in Butler County and Preble County for the 2015 Ohio Department of Agriculture’s (ODA) Office of Farmland Preservation Local Agricultural Easement Purchase Program (LAEPP).

As the second highest awardee in the state, TVCT has an estimated $433,538 to distribute to local agricultural landowners through LAEPP.

Owners of agricultural land in Butler County and/or Preble County who are interested in permanently protecting their land are encouraged to join Three Valley Conservation Trust as they present the Who, What, Where, and How of the ODA’s 2016 LAEPP in early December at one of two informational sessions.

The Preble County meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Preble County Educational Service Center, 597 Hillcrest Dr., Eaton, rooms 104 and 105.

Funding for the program is derived from the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund, approved by the voters of Ohio in 2008. When combined with easements from all programs across the state, 319 family farms in 55 counties have collectively preserved more than 55,000 acres.
