EATON — Marsh Supermarket celebrated the remodeling of its store in Eaton on Friday, Nov. 13, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included the Eaton High School band and several figureheads from the community in attendance.

The store has been remodeled with an investment of nearly $1 million, which includes significant physical improvements such as new fixtures, improved lighting and new signs throughout the store. Other improvements include moving customer service to open up the front end of the building, adding cases and relocating the floral department.

“Along with these visible physical upgrades, we continue our commitment to the level of customer service Marsh customers have come to expect,” said the company in a press release.

Eaton Mayor Gary Wagner presented a proclamation to the newly remodeled store.

“This location has also been a destination point for services and groceries,” he said before reading the document.

County Commissioner Chris Day also spoke on behalf of the Preble County Development.

“It’s a great day to see the reinvestment back into the community,” he said. “On behalf of the Preble County Developmental Partnership and my fellow county commissioners, we greatly thank you for your investment back into the community and the investment into the employees; to the employees, your investment back into the community helping people when they come in to shop.”

There will also be pharmacy opening at the location and is expected to open in January of 2016.
