LEWISBURG — After four weeks of competition, the junior high quiz team season came to an end at Tri-County North as teams from six area schools faced off for an intellectual battle on Monday, Nov. 2.
Participating schools were Twin Valley South, Eaton, Tri-County North, National Trail, Arcanum, Bethel and Dixie.
At each quiz team match, students were asked questions in areas such as language arts, American government, math, fine arts, science, geography, world history, US history, and general knowledge. The competition is designed to challenge students intellectually and build a desire to continue learning and competing at the high school level.
“All teams had a successful experience of learning,” said Daryl Michael, the Gifted and Talented Program Coordinator at the Preble County ESC. “Thank you to Tri-County North for hosting the final match. A special thank you goes out to the parents of the students for your encouragement and support of your child’s learning through this activity.”
Michael also thanked the following people for their “hard work, encouragement, and cooperation”: Jeff Wassom (National Trail), Margaret Krauss (Twin Valley South), Catherine Borucki (Eaton), Jim Conway (Tri-County North), Andrea Painting (Arcanum), Mark Clute (Bethe,) and Kristin Elix (Dixie).
