LEWISBURG —Treasurer Lynn Ferguson presented the initial five-year forecast for the 2016 Fiscal Year at the Tri-County North Board of Education meeting on Monday, Oct. 19.

According to Ferguson, the school is expected to have $1,866,665 in the general fund at the end of the fiscal year.

Ferguson noted, there are unknowns still to be factored in the final number — like property tax values and other changes in the school funding.

The school had $1,746,216 in the general fund as of June 30, according to Ferguson.

Five purpose clauses were approved by the board, for the TCN class of 2019, the TCN Middle School Student Council, the TCN Yearbook, the TCN VIP, and the TCN HS/MS Library Fund.

The board also approved a contract with FSR Landscaping for snow removal services. The contract is the same contract the school has had with the company the past two years.

Superintendent Bill Derringer informed the board the school will not have varsity bowling and junior high wrestling due to lack of numbers.

He also reported 41.8 percent of students in the district are currently receiving free or reduced lunch.

The board approved the contract of seven varsity assistant and junior high coaches.

The board accepted the donation of 20 $50 gift cards from Walmart for teachers to buy supplies for their classrooms.

The board approved a donation from the Lewisburg Chamber of Commerce so the school can host a senior citizen lunch on Dec. 4.

Dr. and Mrs. John Allen also had their donation of $100 to the schools music department accepted.

The resignation of Shelley Frank, the Family and Consumer Science teacher, was accepted by the board.

Elementary principal Joe Finkbine reported the fifth and sixth grade first Lego league will compete in their first ever competition on Nov. 21 in its first ever competition.

He also reported teacher evaluations have been changed. In years past, every teacher was evaluated every year, now teachers will alternate years of evaluation with half going one year, half going the next.

The Tri-County North Board of Education meets every third Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
