LEWISBURG — The Lewisburg Village Council met in regular session on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Council adopted a resolution to accept the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor.

The item is more of a housekeeping issue, and the council voted to wave the three readings of the resolution. It was approved unanimously.

They also set a public hearing for the Zumstein annexation issue. The hearing will take place on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:45 inside the village firehouse.

The “bark park” dog park that is opening up on Sunday, Oct. 25 also needed new park rules approved, which council passed as well. The parade route, which stretches from the firehouse to Clay Street on the opening day, was approved.

In the city manager’s report, Jeff Sewert told council that the NatureWorks Program commended the village for a job well done on the spray park and the village also received around $20,000 back from the project.

Council approved Kelly Birchfield to join the zoning commission.

The board also approved the blocking of the alley behind Stivers Pools on Saturday, Oct. 31, for an auction of the building on that day.

The next village council meeting, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, was moved to Monday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
