EATON — Preble County Commissioners will host their fifth annual Charity Ball on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Hueston Woods State Park Lodge.
As with the past four events,this will be a formal (black tie optional) fundraiser which includes dinner and dancing with music provided by “Music by Marta.”
The mission of this gala is to raise awareness of the needs of the Preble County community and to solicit donations to support selected charities. Each of the commissioners selects the charity for which their portion of funds raised will go.
“The needs of our community are broad in number and broad in scope. However, to make a positive impact it only takes a single mission; a mission takes vision,” the board has noted in past event announcements. Commissioners invite local businesses, friends, and colleagues to join them in an effort to turn this vision into reality.
Participation as a sponsor, attendee or both, helps provide the needed financial support to help make a difference in the lives of many Preble County residents, according to officials. The Preble County Development Partnership assists with the preparations for the Charity Ball.
The four community organizations selected by the commissioners this year include: Preble County Junior Fair Board, Chris Day; Youth For Christ and the Humane Society of Preble County, Denise Robertson, and Triangle Therapy Services, Rodney Creech.
Each of the organizations chosen will receive proceeds from this year’s ball.
Donations and reservations are due to P.O. Box 112, Eaton, OH 45320 by Friday, Oct. 2. Checks should be made payable to The Preble County Development Partnership. Dinner options include prime rib or roasted chicken or fire roasted vegetables, along with tossed salad, oven roasted red skin potatoes, chef’s vegetable of the day, rolls, dessert and drinks.
Donation is $50 per person. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
