EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright released her monthly financial report on March 27.
According to Wright, during the month of February, the county’s general fund receipts totaled $668,956.38, 11.30 percent above the estimated receipts for the month.
Sales tax revenue for February totaled $492, 046.70 from December sales, Wright reported. Local Government Funds totaled $38,079.15, charges for services were at $88,503.33, interest was at $12,406.92, fines and forfeitures were at $632.33, and other receipts were $37,287.95.
According to Wright, the 1-mill conveyance fee totaled $20,451.20 and there were no expenditures for the month.
Expenditures
February general fund disbursements totaled $827,776.34, 8.43 percent above the estimate for the month, according to Wright. Salaries, PERS and Medicare disbursements were $468,938.33. Transfers for the month included $75,000 to Children Services, Wright reported.
Department expenditures were $197,622.80, and included supplies ($18,572.34); equipment ($2,435.13); charges for services ($145,381.91); gasoline ($4,684.48); travel, advertising/printing and other expenses.
According to Wright, the general fund began 2017 with a balance of $4,781,385.73, and ended the month of February with $4,429,773.57.
General fund receipts were above what they were in 2016, 23.97 percent ($129,333.28) according to Wright. Expenditures for the month were 8.21 percent less than they were in 2016; salaries, PERS and Medicare were down 0.01 percent and department expenses were down 27.9 percent ($76,454.65 total.)
