Festivities for Gratis Bicentennial Celebration is set for June 10, with a parade starting at 11 a.m. There will be vendor booths, memorabilia and bounce houses for the kids, as well as live local entertainment. Souvenir books may be available. If interested, contact Stacy Johnson on Facebook. The group meets on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at village hall if you would like to help or have memorabilia to donate.

Large open burn

Fire departments from Camden Somers Township, Gasper Township and Milford Township responded to Somerville- West Elkton Road at Pogue Frazee Road. On report of a barn fire which turned out to be a large open burn from a torn-down house. Firefighters remained on the scene for about two hours. No injuries were reported.

Fire training

Members from Camden Somers and Gasper Township’s fire departments spent this past Saturday training at the Lewisburg Fire Department’s training facility. Firefighters spent several hours doing fire suppression, search and rescue and heat exposure training under controlled conditions with certified fire instruction.

Benefit

There will be a pancake benefit fundraiser on March 25, from 8-11 a.m. Also starting at 8 p.m., the Flat Out Band will be performing. There will be lots of raffle items and activities. To be held at The Gratis Eagles and is for Gayle McKinney .

Missing dog

A tri-colored dog is missing from the Greenbush Road area near West Elkton. There is a cash reward for her safe return. Call 937-974-8968, 475-9396 or 416-6426.
