Camden Book & Bake Sale

Fill up your bookshelf, and support your Camden Branch Library at its Book and Bake Sale from Aug. 10-15. All book sales are by donation only, and all proceeds go to support the Camden Branch Library. The sale will run the library’s regular hours:

Monday, 12-8 p.m.; Tuesday, 2-8 p.m.; Wednesday, 12-8 p.m.; Thursday, 12-8 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Grief recovery program

Get guidance to resolve loss issues and move beyond grief to a richer quality of life when Crossroads Hospice holds its 12-week grief recovery program at the PCDL Admin Office at 450 S. Barron St. in Eaton. The program will be Mondays from 6-8 p.m. from Aug. 10 through Oct. 26. Space is limited. Call 937-432-2305 or email [email protected] to sign up.

Library Lego contests

Win awesome Lego prizes at the library. Two branches are hosting Lego competitions for ages 5-12 in August. The Camden Branch’s contest is Tuesday, August 11 at 5:30 p.m., and the West Elkton Branch will have a Lego Contest on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Novel Discussion Book/Movie Club

Join us at the Eaton Branch of Preble County District Library to discuss the book, “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert. The book/movie discussion will be Thursday, August 27 at 6:30 p.m. The Novel Discussion movie night will be a week earlier, August 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs

Learn about native and invasive species of insects at the library in August. Scott Trochelman will bring many species of bugs, housed in acrylic, for all ages. His bug show will be at the following branches:

Eaton Branch on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

New Paris Branch on Monday, Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m.

West Elkton Branch on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m.

West Manchester Branch on Monday, Aug. 17 at 4:30 p.m.

Eldorado Branch on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

Going Batty at the Library

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Have you ever wondered what your stuffed animals are doing when you’re not around? We’ll help you find out!

Children can come into the Eaton Branch Library on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 6:30 p.m. to hear a story, have a nighttime snack, complete a craft, and let their stuffed animal spend the night at the library!

The next day, children can pick up their animal and a book of all their friend’s adventures. Children of all ages can attend dressed in their pajamas.

*Make sure to not bring the animal your child sleeps with, as it will be at the library all night*

Back to school party in West Elkton

Getting ready for the new school year, the West Elkton Branch Library will have games, prizes, snacks, and a school supply giveaway on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 4 p.m.
