PCAA reports on fair show

EATON — The PCAA once again served on the coordinating committee for the Visual Arts Department at this year’s Preble County Fair.

According to officials, the PCAA spent over 130 staff hours and 200 volunteer hours with the committee.

There are numerous categories in both photography and art, each with awards in first, second and third place. There are only two Best of Show awards. Don Meiners took home this award for photography and Richard Lathrop took it home for art.

Sponsors for the awards included Silver Sponsor: Wallace Heating and Air (all first place awards,) Bronze Sponsors, Sherriff Goslin Roofing, CMJ’s Repair, C.G. Construction & Utilities, Ellerton Enterprises, Frebco Industrial Piping (all Best of Show awards,) and Supporting Sponsors, Eaton Floral and Joe Kimball Plumbing.

“This year’s fair impressed us with the talent that surfaced, especially from our junior and ameatuer classes,” PCAA organizers said in a press release. “In addition to the awards given by the jurors, there are two People’s Choice awards which are supported by Simon Insurance, Skyline Chili and FCL Precision Weld. The Junior Class Award went to Sawyer Hacker and and the Adult Class Award went to Aryn Landes.

“Congratulations to all the winners and to all the entrants in the fair. We could not be prouder of the talent that is in Preble County.”
