A Family Fun Day is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 7, from 1-6 p.m. Hamburgers and Hot Dogs are provided; please bring a side to share.The next Steak Fry will be Saturday, Aug.20 from 5-7:30 p.m. with a 50/50 raffle and is opene to the public.

Enjoy Old-time Country and Western music and dancing every Thursday from 1-4 p.m. with the Senior Fun Bunch.

GBCC Ladies Retreat

Grace Brethren Community Church, 3110 U.S. 35 East, is holding their Sixth Annual Ladies Retreat on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Mark your calendar, save the date and plan to come join us for a day full of fun, laughter, singing and praising in the Lord. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. A coffee/pastry barwill be offered in the fellowship hall during Registration for all who arrive before 9:50 a.m. The retreat begins promptly at 10 a.m. Guest Speaker, Sister Bertha Grauman, will be speaking to us on Making a Difference. There will be several breakout sessions facilitated by: Sister Melissa Owens (Table Talk), Sister Marnita Sorrell (Stress Free with Jesus), Sister Betty Glander (‘Let Your Light Shine’ DIY craft), and Sisters Bonnie Anderson and Toni Gilbert (‘Christmas in July’ DIY craft). North American Wild Game Cook-off

A Wild Game Cook-off will be held Sunday, July 31, at 6p.m. in the Toney Building at the Preble County Fairgrounds in Eaton. This event is sponsored by Spic’n Span Pots’n Pans 4-H Club and the Preble County Fair Board. Register by 5 p.m., July 31, and set up between 5 and 6 p.m. May enter more than one class, but only one entry per class. All game animals must be native to North America or have a hunting/trapping or fishing season in North America. Entries will be judged on taste and presentation. Seventy percent of the dish has to be comprised of the game animal or fish for the entry. Food will need to be cooked prior to arrival for the contest. There will be limited area to keep dishes warm while waiting for judging. Entry must have enough for five samples; one per each of the five judges. Entrants must pay for own entrance to the fair. Prizes for classes are: $25 to each class winner, $100 for Grand Champion winner. Classes are – Big Game: Whitetail Deer, Bear, Moose, Pronghorn, Caribou and Elk. Small Game: Squirrel, Rabbit, Raccoon, Groundhog and Beaver. Fish: Any wild game fish. Bird: Any wild game bird. Exotic: Turtle, Lynx, Armadillo, Frog-legs, Rattlesnake and Alligator. Community Picnic

The twenty-fifth annual West Alexandria Community Picnic will be Thursday, Aug. 11 from 4-8 p.m. Come meet the new school superintendent, your teachers, the football team, cheerleaders, and the marching band while enjoying your meal of $1.50 for hot dog or burger, chips and a drink! There are door prizes galore, plus buy chances to win two airline tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S.!

St. John Lutheran, Ingomar

Holden Prayer Around the Cross services will be held from 7-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14. These evenings of prayer are held outside under the picnic shelter so we can end our days on a positive and peaceful note.

Salem Lutheran Church

A Congregational Workshop will be held July 23 from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. with lunch provided. NALC Ohio Mission District Dean, Pastor Daniel Powell, will present an exciting opportunity for members to participate in the call process and prepare for a new pastor.

Salem Women are compiling a 200 year Anniversary Cook Book. Please submit recipes on forms located in the Church Library or contact Polly Voge at 839-4721 or Clara Wienhoff at 937-715-2200.Our Mission for the month of July will be for W.A.C.O.C.A. providing for emergency needs in the area.
