RCO inviting more musicians

RICHMOND, INDIANA — As of Monday, Feb. 22, the Richmond Community Orchestra (RCO) began rehearsals for the new year. If anyone is interested in joining the RCO this year, it is not too late. Organizers say the RCO can always use more strings (all types), horns, and various woodwinds such as oboe, bassoon, and the like. At times, RCO is also in need of additional brass, especially low brass.

Rehearsals are held each Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Goddard Auditorium of Carpenter Hall on the campus of Earlham College under the direction of Jay Conard of Eaton. There are no tryouts for this all-volunteer group, but they ask anyone who is not already a member but interested in joining to let them know by emailing Liz Givitachancenow at [email protected]. Interested musicians should include what instrument they play and an estimated level of proficiency.

RCO’s first concert this year is Sunday afternoon, May 1, so it is not too late to join the fun. For further information about the RCO, visit the website at www.rcoindiana.org.
