Cougars-Generals game March 5

WEST ALEXANDRIA — The fourth annual Cougars vs. Generals basketball game will be held on March 5, at Twin Valley South. Tip-off is at 11 am.

The Cougars are Preble County’s Special Olympic basketball team who play a full schedule of games against teams from Darke, Miami, Montgomery and Shelby counties.

The Cougars squad includes Sidney Hoskins, Kim Jackson, Ricky Birkhead, Jr. Gambill, Brad Mikesell, Chad Mikesell, Kim Mikesell, Alex Day, Sean Pierce, Adam Jackson, Katy Bishop and Brooks Henning. They are coached by Tim Lane and Chuck Hart.

The Generals are a team of local celebrities from throughout county. This is your opportunity to see local police officers, city, county and school officials and area business men and women compete against the Cougars in a fun game of basketball.

The Cougars will be led on the court by the Preble County Cougars Cheer Team, fresh off their appearance at Spirit Day at Twin Valley South. The Cheer Team includes Debbie Heaberlin, Lela Lyninger, Ellissa Barron, Heather Nichols, Margie Reckers, Elizabeth Bresher and Sarah Kottke. The team is coached by Shelley Gray.

While admission is free, donations will be accepted to benefit Special Olympics in Preble County. The game also tips off March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
