Boy Scout Troupe 107

Boy Scout Troupe 107, for ages 11-18, is back! Boy Scout Troupe 107 meets in the West Alexandria Town Hall basement on Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30p.m. and is looking to add new members! If interested, contact Brian King at 937-336-3468.

Cub Scout Quarter Auction

Cub Scout Pack 107 will hold it’s annual Quarter Event Friday, February 19, 7p.m. at the American Legion, 1477 St. Rt. 503 South. We have Mary Kay (Jenny Stachler King), Tastefully Simple (Wendy Clark), Origami Owl (Kim Marburger) , We B Stuffin (Terri Wysong), 31 (Jessica Cherry), Avon (Tosha Jackson) and more! Join us for lots of fun and support our cub scouts!! Doors open at 6:30 and the event starts at 7:00.

WAFD/EMS

Every Thursday evening doors open at 5p.m. and BINGO calling starts at 6p.m. at 25 E. Dayton Street. Come early, get a good seat and start your luck with some pull offs! All proceeds benefit the West Alexandria Firefighters Association and Department.

S&S P&P 4-H Club

Spic’n Span Pots’n Pans 4-H Club, established in 1970, will begin their forty-sixth year meeting on Monday, Feb. 22 at 4p.m. in the Salem Lutheran Fellowship Hall. We meet every Monday and welcome new members! Cloverbuds include activities for children ages 5-8, and 4-H members must be at least 8 years old or in the third grade to compete in the Junior Fair. Fair Projects must be turned in by the end of March. Meetings consist of 4-H business and working on fair projects, snacks and games. We cover all domestic, animal and miscellaneous projects. American Legion

Euchre Night will be every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Every Wed. Euchre night is Ladies Night! There is a $5 entry fee, prizes, a 50/50 raffle and it is open to the public at James E. Ryan Post 322, 1477 St. Rt. 503 South.

Enjoy Old-time Country and Western music every Thursday from 1-4 p.m. with the Senior Fun Bunch. This is open to the public and includes coffee and snacks with no cover charge.

Good News Bible Club

Calvary Baptist Church is hosting the Good News Bible Club for students in grades K-4, which meets in the TVS Middle School Art Room every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5p.m. as long as school is open. Foodbank

Items needed are egg noodles, pancake syrup, ramen noodles, shampoo, and toothpaste. The Foodbank is open from 10a.m. to 12p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at Salem and St. John Lutheran Churches the first Sunday of each month.

WACOCA Hymn Sing

The WACOCA Annual Hymn Sing is Sunday, Feb. 21, 7 p.m. at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Join churches from the West Alexandria community as we come together in song and fellowship. There will be light refreshments afterward.

Church of the Brethren

Our Free Community Meals are the first Wednesday of every month, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren, 22 East Oak St. West Alex.

Youth in grades 5-8 are invited to join us every other Sunday for our Youth Ministry Nights from 6-7:15p.m.

St. John Church

A Free Community Supper will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 from 5-6:30 p.m. at 20 E. South Street.

UCC Living Lenten services will be held at 7 p.m. each Sunday evening from Feb. 14-March 13. Our mission for February is the HIT Foundation.

Salem Lutheran Church

Junior Lutherans, for ages 3 through sixth grade, meet every Wednesday during Lent at 6 p.m., come early for a meal in the Fellowship Hall.

Lenten meals take place in the Fellowship Hall from 5-6:30 p.m. every Wednesday, followed by Lenten services at 7p.m. through March 16.

The Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study will meet at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 20 in the Fellowship Hall.

Social Outings of Salem, S.O.S., will meet at the Twin Creek Tea Room Feb. 22, at 4:30 p.m. for a Ham Loaf or Golden Chicken Supreme dinner. Contact Diana Wall for more information at 839-5326.

LYO will meet for a Hot Chocolate and Movie Night in the Fellowship Hall from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27.

New Eyes For the Needy – SWELCA is collecting used eye glasses to be donated to the local Lions Club. A donation box is located in the church Library.

St. John Lutheran, Ingomar

Please join us for our midweek Lenten meals and worship services beginning Wednesday, Feb. 17. Our carry-in meals begin at 6:15 p.m. followed by the service at 7p.m., Feb. 24, March 2, March 9 and March 16.

During the season of Lent, we will be collecting needed items for the Preble County Homeless Shelter which is operated by the HIT Foundation. Those staying at the shelter sleep on twin beds (20 beds total) and the sheets are being washed every day, so they would love to have more twin sheet sets. In addition to or an alternative to purchasing sheet sets, is buying cases of bottled water or juices. Please bring items to church by March 6. Delivery of items to shelter will be on March 9. Thank you for your support!
