EATON — Movies: We have two movie matinee’s coming up. On Friday, Feb. 24, you can see “Sweeney Todd,” and on Monday, March 6, you can see the Old Time Movie, “Singing in the Rain.” Both movie times are at 1:30 p.m. in Decade’s Diner at the Activities Center.

Great American Pie Month: See how many whipped cream pies you can eat, and the person that eats the most will win a gift card. Our Pie Eating Contest is on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Activities Center.

Honda recall: There is a recall of driver side airbags inflation and explosions on 2001-2003 Honda Accords, Civics, and Odysseys. Anyone that has one of these vehicles should take it to their dealership immediately and/or call Honda Operator Recall Dept. at 1-888-234-2138

Therapist on Call: Wednesday, March 1, at 10 a.m., Vancrest professionals will be here to answer any health concerns and provide tools and informationto feel better.

Bowling: We are going bowling Thursday, March 2, pick up (if you need it) is at 10 a.m. We leave the Activities Center at 11 a.m. There is a small fee for this fun Richmond outing of bowling and lunch.

Fun Friday, March 3: “Let Me Entertain You, Let Me Make You Smile,” says Glenn Parks of Banjo Entertainment. He will be performing for us at noon on Fun Friday, March 3, at The Grange located at 501 Nation Avenue in Eaton. Tickets are $3 for members and $5 for non-members. Purchase your ticket in advance at the Preble County Council on Aging.

Downsize and Declutter: Get insight and motivation with this free talk from Reid Health Alliance on Tuesday, March 7, at 10 a.m. at the Activities Center.

The Northern Connection “Lunch & Learn”: Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 301 E. Main Street in New Paris. March 8, our entertainment will be Sweet Sensation. The Northern Connection is a partnership between the Preble County Council on Aging and the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Lunch is served at no charge (donations are welcome) followed by either a speaker on a topic of interest, or entertainment. Information is also available on services provided by the Preble County Council on Aging. Everyone is welcome to attend. Bible Study/Prayer Group: Charlie Wagner will be leading a bible study/prayer group here at the Activities Center the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. They will open with prayer, read scriptures from the Bible, have open prayers, take prayer requests, open communication, and closing prayer. Charlie is excited to share in this devotion with you. Show up beginning Tuesday, March 14, at 9:30 a.m. at the Senior Activity Center.

Have you visited the Decade’s Diner for lunch? If not, you are missing out on this unique location with its distinctive 1950s decor and memorabilia, including a juke box and graffiti wall. Located at the Preble County Activities Center, 800 East St. Clair Street in Eaton, the Decade’s Diner is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Chose from the daily special, combo, or the regular menu.
