GREENVILLE — The Preble County Emergency Management Agency is teaming up with Darke County Emergency Management Agency this year to host the annual Weather Spotter Training.

EATON — The Preble County Park District was awarded $50,000 by the Preble County Board of Commissioners on Monday, Jan. 30, as the board approved the master plan submitted by the organization.

EATON — In response to the recent layoffs at Silfex in Eaton, and the upcoming reductions rendered to welfare and Medicaid, the Preble County Jobs and Family Services Department (JFS) have announced a Rapid Response event on Tuesday, Feb. 14, to educate those affected on available services provided in Preble County.

EATON — Brenda White, Preble County Treasurer, has announced payments for the first half 2022 real estate taxes can now be made. Property owners who have property that has been transferred within the past year should contact the Treasurer’s office regarding making payment.

School Safety Support grants awarded

OHIO — Last week, Governor Mike DeWine announced that more than 900 additional schools will receive state funding support for physical safety and security upgrades as part of the latest round of Ohio’s K-12 School Safety Grant Program. Among the schools in this round of funding were Eaton Community Schools, National Trail Local Schools, Preble County Educational Service Center, Preble Shawnee Local Schools and Tri-County North Local Schools.
