TVS Pee Wee Football
TVS Pee Wee Football sign-ups for boys entering grades 2-6 in the fall of 2014 will be Sunday June 8 and June 15 from 2 -4 p.m. at West Alexandria Storage Units, 67 E Second Street. Cost is $70 registration fee + $45 for jersey (only required for new players or returning players needing a new jersey). Children need to come to sign-ups so they can be fitted for equipment. Registration forms went home the last week of school, but if you did not receive one or need one please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
West Alexandria Farmers Market
The local Farmers’ Market and More is located at Peace Park and is held each Thursday from 5-8 p.m. through the end of August. This family friendly market will showcase local food vendors, local produce, local entertainment, local independent consultants including but not limited to Avon and Tupperware, and many local crafters.
Space is still available if you wish to be a vendor. Spaces are 10 x 10 and are $2 a week or $20 for the whole season. We offer free parking and have public restrooms. All money raised is used by the Celebration Committee to provide the community with fireworks for the July 4 Celebration in the Park. Contact Carol Lunsford at 839-4085 for additional information.
Every Thursday the Celebration Committee will sponsor entertainment during the Farmers Market. Entertainment on June 12 will be provided by Ron Anderson from Hagerstown, Indiana. Thursday, June 19, musical entertainment will be provided by Rick Gibbs from Middletown, OH. Contact Deb Smith for additional information at 937-248-5503.

BBQ Chicken and Pork Chop Dinner
The WA Celebration Committee is having a BBQ Chicken and Pork Chop Dinner, Sunday, June 22 from 11a.m.-1p.m. Drive-thru pick up at the W. Alex Police Department. Half of a chicken dinner is $7 or 3/4lb. pork chop dinner is $8. Choice of two sides, (green beans, apples sauce and coleslaw) and dinner roll. Order ahead by calling Carol Lunsford at 937-839-4085 or Pick up order forms and drop off or mail to The Pin Up Shoppe, 50 W. Second St. or at the W. Alex Library or Michelle Laughlin at 41 W. Second Street. Due by Wed. June 18. Proceeds will help fund the Fourth of July Fireworks for the village.
Cruise-in Car and Bike Show
The July 4 Big Bang Boom Cruise-in Car and Bike Show is coming up as part of our July 4 Celebration in the Park. Prize money for the Car Show is sponsored by Rodney Cobb Chevrolet Buick GMC. Contact Debbie Smith for entry, registration and info. at 937-248-5503.
Rubber Duck Regatta
Change of date: The WA Celebration Committee’s annual Rubber Duck Regatta and Silent Auction will take place Saturday, June 28 at the American Legion on Ohio 503 S. from 5-8 p.m. Cost is $3 a duck or 2/$5.00. Ducks will be dumped at 6 p.m. First and Last Duck wins $100. We will have a Bake Sale as well as Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, Salad Bar, Potato Bar and more. Silent Auction Bidding ends at 7:45 and winners will be announced at 8 p.m.

Items needed are ramen noodles, tuna, can pasta, egg noodles, pork & beans, shampoo, toothpaste and bar soap. You may contact the Foodbank at 839-1615. Hours are Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. John Church, 20 East South Street. The first Sunday of each month, non-perishable donations can be brought to Salem and St. John Lutheran Churches.

Marie Reynolds Memorial Scholarship Applications are available for members in the Church Office Secretary’s door. Coups for Troops was created to assist families of those who serve our country in the U.S. military. Commissaries overseas accept manufacturer coupons up to two months past expiration. Save your recently expired or current coupons and place them in the basket provided in the church library. Please no pet supplies or local restaurants.
