As many families prepare for spring break after the harsh winter, things are heating up at area AAA Travel offices.
While some travelers may be going on a week-long vacation, others are looking for budget-friendly get-away ideas for a long weekend. Popular Spring Break destinations include: Disney World, Gatlinburg, Hilton Head, S.C., and Chicago.
April Spring Break travelers will be greeted by lower gas prices as the national average of $3.53 is 11 cents lower than the $3.64 average a year ago. The average price in the Miami Valley area is currently $3.60. However, prices are likely to vary along the Spring Break travel route.
AAA Spring Break Travel Tips
· AAA encourages Spring Break travelers to download the free AAA Mobile App to find the gas stations with the lowest prices along your travel route. The app also provides information on restaurants, including pricing and menu selections as well as hotel prices and amenities.
· Stop by any local AAA office and pick up a free copy of Know Before You Go. Traffic laws can vary greatly from state to state. Know Before You Go highlights laws for cell phone use, child passenger restraints and seat belt use for area states that travelers may pass through
