Eaton boys basketball coach Denny Shepherd felt as if his team played well in both of its games this past weekend.
But the Eagles lost the battle on the boards in both contests, and dropped a pair of road games to Oakwood and Arcanum.
On Friday, Feb. 7, Eaton saw its record in the Southwestern Buckeye League fall to 0-10 with a 62-42 loss at Oakwood. The Lumberjacks out-rebounded Eaton 27-13.
Eaton fell behind 15-7 after the first quarter and trailed 30-18 at the half. By the end of the third, Eaton trailed 47-29.
Erik Hoke led Eaton with 17 points and Matt Sullender chipped in with 10. No other player scored more than four points.
On Saturday, Eaton fell 59-51 to Arcanum.
Hoke led the way with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Andrew Gevedon added 14 points and Garrett Eiler chipped in with 8.
Eaton (1-18) was scheduled to host National Trail on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Brookville on Thursday. The Eagles will close out the regular season at Lemon-Monroe on Friday.
